Description

Centrophenoxine was discovered in France in the year 1959. Although, the chemical nature of Centrophenoxine is different from other typical nootropics but it is due to its therapeutic effects and pharmacological properties, that it is included in the same group of drugs. The drug is said to be beneficial in cases of central nervous system disorders like brain injury, chronic alcoholism, cerebral atrophy, post-stroke state, concentration or memory weaknesses, tardive dyskenesia, and medium level dementia. In areas of Europe, Centrophenoxine is used especially to deal with problems of people with alcohol addictions or even post-traumatic coma. The basic functioning of the drug involves combating radicals, decreasing the level of lipofuscin accumulation in body cells and increasing the level of acetylcholine, protein and neuronal RNA. Apart from the above-mentioned problems, Centrophenoxine assists in tackling problems of cellular aging by flushing out toxins from heart and arteries, which are a major factor resulting in heart attacks. Centrophenoxine helps in restoring a healthy life style by supporting the healthy functioning of brain in carrying out daily life activities and it improves the ability of the brain to transfer information to secondary memory. Besides these, doctor prescribes Centrophenoxine in several other conditions as well.

Dosage

The dosage of Centrophenoxine varies from an average intake of 600 mg per day to 2000 mg per day, depending on the condition and prescription of the doctor. Centrophenoxine is usually provided in two equal doses mostly at breakfast times and at lunch. For people who want to enhance the condition of their brain, in order to prevent brain aging, can consume Centrophenoxine, 250 mg twice a day, even if they are healthy and dealing with psychological and neurological diseases.

Side effects

Some of the side effects that were observed after the consumption of Centrophenoxine were nausea/ mild dizziness. Other after effects of the drug are headaches, tension in areas of neck, jaw, insomnia, hyperactivity and restlessness, all of which are caused due to the over production of acetylcholine. Although it is not considered to be intoxication but it is better to consult a doctor about the above-mentioned symptoms. The best way to avoid the accumulation of acetylcholine level in human body would be to skip the dose of Centrophenoxine for a day or two.

Caution

Patients who are already dealing with symptoms of hallucination or even paranoid symptoms should consult their doctor before consuming Centrophenoxine because there are chances that their conditions may get worse.
