Aredia
Text Aredia (Generic Name: Pamidronic Acid) is a bone loss inhibitor which is used to treat bone softening due to certain types of cancer. It is utilized to treat osteoporosis and inhibit bone loss. In Paget‘s disease it is used to make the bones strong. It prevents bone loss through the use of steroids and it gives high propensity to bones in some types of cancer including multiple myeloma wherein the drug is usually given as an intravenous infusion that lasts for about three hours. The therapy is lifetime and the patient should have it every month. Because of the drug’s capability to seize calcium in the bone, it is also utilized to remedy high calcium levels. It is being used experimentally for the treatment of Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a bone disorder which is also known as “brittle bones”.
